Contemporary Evening Book Discussion: Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand, by Helen Simonson

July 19 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Major Pettigrew

The author’s debut novel is one of intelligence and dignity. It details the life of Major Ernest Pettigrew, a proper 68 year old widower living in Sussex, England, and his blossoming relationship with Mrs. Ali, a Pakistani widow, despite the racial and social prejudices they encounter.

Moderated by Professor Mike Boecherer of SCCC

Copies of the books are available at the Reference desk. Everyone is welcome!
