Masterwork Conversations presents the music of the Spanish masters, Issac Albéniz, Manuel de Falla, and Enrique Granados, who worked to capture the evocative sensory feel of the Iberian Peninsula and transmute it into the sounds of the piano. Frenchmen Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel captured this sensory allure in their Spanish flavored works. Join us for a musical siesta that will make you stomp, clap, and shout! Come hear the sweet harp-like sounds of the West African Kora. It is a 21-string harp that is native to the Mandinka people of Gambia, Senegal, Mali, Guinea, and Guinea Bissau. Gaskell plays traditional songs and shares traditions which can be traced back nearly 800 years. No registration needed. All are welcome!

The performance includes hand balancing, plate spinning, trick cycling, foot juggling, ribbon dancing, and Chinese water bowl manipulation. Li also touches on various aspects of Chinese language, geography, and culture while sharing her work and travel experiences with the audience.
